“Il Ritorno di Mary Poppins” è stato proiettato ieri sera in anteprima mondiale: ecco le prime reazioni alla visione del film Disney, che elogiano in particolare la performance di Emily Blunt.
Dopo ben 54 anni sta per uscire finalmente il seguito del musical Disney con Julie Andrews e Dick Van Dyke: “Il ritorno di Mary Poppins” (guarda il trailer). Sotto la regia di Rob Marshall, questa volta ad interpretare la celebre tata sul grande schermo troviamo Emily Blunt. La première mondiale ha avuto luogo ieri e, finito l’embargo nelle ultime ore, sono uscite numerose reazioni da parte della critica: hanno tutte un comune denominatore, ovvero… La lode all’attrice protagonista!
Il ritorno di Mary Poppins – Le prime reazioni elogiano Emily Blunt
Gran parte delle reazioni a “Il ritorno di Mary Poppins” risultano positive e, in generale, sembrano tutti concordare sul fatto che Emily Blunt abbia fatto un ottimo lavoro. Ad esempio, Joel Meares di Rotten Tomatoes scrive:
“Allora Il ritorno di Mary Poppins è un’eccellenza così grande. Emily Blunt prenderà tutte le nomination, Lin-Manuel vincerà tutti i cuori e la musica sarà nella vostra testa e nella vostra playlist per mesi.”

Sulla musica de “Il ritorno di Mary Poppins”, però, non è d’accordo Yolanda Machado di The Wrap:
“Sigh. Non mi è piaciuto Il ritorno di Mary Poppins. Mi sono annoiata per gran parte del tempo e, da grandissima fan dei musical teatrali, la musica era così e così. Mancava una canzone che veramente catturasse il cuore. Ma Emily Blunt è fantastica, i bambini la adoreranno e farà un sacco di soldi.”

Germain Lussier di Gizmodo, invece, fa da spartiacque, apprezzando “Il ritorno di Mary Poppins” ma rimarcando quello che anche altri hanno twittato, ovvero il fatto che la pellicola risulterebbe un po’ troppo simile all’originale:
“Mary Poppins Returns è un film realizzato squisitamente con una musica gradevole, performance eccellenti (specialmente Emily Blunt) e ottimismo contagioso. Ma comunque… Sembra tanto simile all’originale. Nuove canzoni, nuove tecnologie, stessa storia e tematiche. Lo raccomando assolutamente comunque.”
Mary Poppins Returns is a exquisitely made film with delightful music, excellent performances (especially by Emily Blunt) & contagious optimism.
And yet…it felt SO similar to the original. New songs, better technology, same story & themes. I definitely recommend it though.

"Mary Poppins Returns" has some great moments, but never consistent enough to be overall great. What is great and consistent is Emily Blunt in perhaps her single best performance yet. Oscar love coming her way.

I know I’m probably going to be in the minority but I didn’t love #MaryPoppinsReturns. It’s crowdpleasing but paint by numbers. Great production design, good music, Rob Marshall’s Stagey musical performances. Has moments of greatness but mostly not for me.
